HOME GROWN, RAISED, AND FED IN SONOITA, ARIZONA
All Vera Earl Ranch Premium Beef is born, raised, fed and compassionately cared for on one of our ranches. The calves are born in the grasslands of the Sonoita and Willcox valleys and raised on the ranch until they are weaned off the cows (about 7 months). At weaning, the calves are brought to the Vera Earl Ranch and put on a corn and hay ration. All of the feed fed to the calves is locally sourced from southern Arizona. The steers and heifers are fed in 10 acre open pastures until they reach their finishing weight of 1,400 lbs.
Each steer and heifer receives an electronic identification (EID) tag that is scanned into our record keeping system. These tags allow us to track all vaccinations given to the calves. Furthermore, it allows us to track each calf and provide you with a guarantee of the vaccinations the beef on your plate has received. All of the steers and heifers are GUARANTEED to never receive hormones and in the rare case one of the steers or heifers is sick and has to receive an antibiotic, we record it using the EID tag and a separate tag to denote that animal has had antibiotics. This disqualifies from the natural program and they are removed from the VE Premium Beef program too. All of these measures are taken to provide you with transparency into our program and to guarantee you receive the EXACT product we promise on your family’s dinner table.
